March 2008:
We were given some very interesting talks and shown items relating to the Beavers hobbies. There was a variety of hobbies and here are just some of them:-Rugby, Swimming, Golf, Tennis, and Karate. Drama club – (this included a talk and we were shown how to mime). A Doctor Who collection, Insects in glass collection, Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends collection and Lego models.
This was a lovely performance and enjoyed by all. Some of the cast were the same as the ones who performed in the Christmas Panto ‘Sinbad’ and we were lucky enough to have our photograph taken with the cast at the end of the show. Once again the Beavers were extremely well behaved.
Thanks Mum
1st Longham Beaver Scouts decided it was time to give, their mums a treat, to celebrate the forthcoming Mothering Sunday. To begin with the mums were treated to tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits served by the Beavers. They were then shown some of the games the Beavers play; Cut the Ice, Body Parts, Lay The Table, Build A Burger and Captain’s Coming. The Beavers then sang and performed ‘My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean’. As a surprise, the Beavers on one of their previous Colony evenings had made coloured bath salts and then layered them in jars. After watching the Beaver Closing Ceremony, the mums were presented with their Bath Salts Gift.
