Each camp will require different personal equipment to be taken, but there are some items which are common to almost all camps. Some of these could make ideal Christmas/Birthday presents so it could be a good idea to check them to see if there is anything that you might not already have. Remember, there are special rules about penknives - consult your Leader before buying, only take a knife to camp when it is on the kit list and hand it in on arrival.

Sleeping Bag and extra Blanket, Pillow (if wanted).

Roll Mat or similar (self-inflating ones are great).

Sleeping clothes (be prepared for cold nights at any time of the year).
- Underwear (enough said).
- Day clothes (suitable for rough work and for wide games).
- Set of spare clothes and footwear (very important!).
- Full Scout Uniform (or just the scarf - see instructions for the camp).
- Group Tee Shirt.
- Hat and Gloves (depending on time of year).
- Extra clothes for cold, wet and windy weather.
- Wash Kit, Towel and Toilet Roll.
- Mess tins (if you have them, otherwise plate & dish).
- Mug, knife, fork and spoon.
- Tea towel.
- Hiking Boots (or strong shoes).
- Waterproof Jacket and Trousers.
- Torch (with good batteries).
- Whistle.
- Pen Knife (only if stated on kit list, hand in to a leader on arrival).
- Plastic Bags for dirty or wet clothes.
- Rucksack.
