Greetings 1st Longham from 1st Claremont Scout Group, the oldest Scout Group in South Africa (we turn 100 on 3 March next year). Our Troop Scouter, Ross, will be at the Jamboree next year on the IST but sadly not on Brownsea Island. I visited Brownsea last year and really enjoyed it. Some of our recent activities: night hike using torches for morse code; bomb disposal; building storm-proof shelters; target shooting with air rifles; raft building (see http://www.kontiki.za.org).
