A West-Country Adventure

Our Beavers went with others from East Dorset on the first District Beavers visit to the Scouting Funday at Woodhouse Scout Activity Centre near Bristol. It was a large event with Cubs & Beavers from places as far away as Wales, Devon and the Midlands.

There were loads of activities on offer, including Go Karts, Funfair, Helter Skelter, Mirror Maze, Bumper Cars (a Longham favourite), Climbing Wall, Inflatables Zorbs, Craft Stalls (painted tiles, beadwork, woggle making) and even a chocolate fountain. There would have been even more activities however a gusty wind curtailed a few of them. At least it didn’t rain and no one got lost.

It was a long day – the coach had left Ferndown Upper School at 7:30am on Saturday and we didn’t get back until after 8:00pm – but everyone had fun and we were all exhausted by the end of the day.
