It was an eventful half term break for the Cubs, many of whom took part in a range of expedition activities including hiking and cycling. Our Scouts learned how to look after a car for their Mechanic Badge. Under expert supervision from an automobile mechanic, they got their hands dirty and performed these skills for real. Our Beavers enjoyed a weekend of adventure in the annual District ‘Activity Day’. They got the chance to try many different activities including: archery, orienteering, crate staking, trampolining, cold cooking, nerf guns, crafts and tie-dying. Our Beavers took the water for a kayaking taster session, which was very popular and well attended. They all enjoyed themselves and did very well, especially as some had never been on the water before. To the surprise of some, they quickly learned the necessary skills and confidence, receiving praise from the instructors for their behaviour, enthusiasm and attentiveness.
